Deadmau5 unleashed “Suite 04b”

Roughly 18 hours after giving fans a taste of “Suite 02,” Deadmau5 unleashed “Suite 04b” on the SoundCloud world. Following in the cinematic vein and key of its predecessor, “Suite 04b” is melodic, melancholy, and missing any elements that would lump it in with today’s dance music. Reverberating chords and an elegantly slow melody carry the 2-minute snippet, which may prove to serve as an interlude if Joel keeps churning out what is proving to be the most musical music of his career. With an abrupt ending and no release date in site, only time will tell if this is the next official chapter of the mau5 files.

T In The Park 2011 - Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris

From its beginnings at Strathclyde Country Park, with 17,000 music fans attending in 1994, to the lush environs of Balado in 1997, TITP has grown in size (now 85,000 capacity) and influence to become one of the most important and critically acclaimed music events on the international festival circuit. This was recently recognised when Festival Director Geoff Ellis of DF Concerts was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards at the UK Festival Awards.
2011 will be the Festival’s 18th year and boy has this baby grown up. The festival’s progressive attitude has seen it develop into a benchmark event, held up not only in the UK, but in Europe and beyond. Its inception has led to the development of a strong and sustained outdoor live events industry in Scotland with its model inspiring the emergence of other successful UK festivals, such as V.

Deadmau5 Recreates Super Castlevania Theme With Modulators

Toy Mau5: Deadmau5 sure does love his toys

He calls it ‘modular-vania’, pretty funny if you ask me. I wonder if his fans realize how funny this guy actually is haha. So basically Deadmau5 recreated the theme song to Super Castlevania, some old school SNES game that I’ve never played before.

“modular-vania. lots of midi to CV, the M5n, SK1, Oberkorn, BLD’s, Cwejman VCOS’s, dark energy, voyager, couple of kenton USB’s. yadda yadda. fun stuff.”

Well first of all, it’s always fun to get a nice glimpse of his absurdly expensive modular system. Way too many buttons, knobs, and inputs/outputs for me to handle, but I’m sure some of you have a basic understanding of what a modular system is all about. Anyways, he was messing around in the studio tonight and made something that I guess is supposed to sound like this?

I’ve never played Castlevania before, and of course Deadmau5 loves all the games we didn’t know back in the day. I was too busy playing Super Smash or something in middle school. His other obsession at the moment is Minecraft. He’s so obsessed with this game that people think he’s actually investing in it, I found that funny.

Mincraft Mania: Deadmau5 is addicted to Minecraft?

Creamfields Australia 2011 announced with Deadmau5, Chuckie, Solveig, Dada Life

After its launch into Australia last year, Creamfields Australia is back bigger and better for Easter 2011. The Totem Onelove crew (also behind the Stereosonic festival) are committed to bringing you some of the world's best acts, utilizing some of the best venues in Australia, amazing production and value for money in ticket pricing.

Totem Onelove (Hardware Corp and Onelove Music Group), are pleased to announce the main headliner for Creamfields 2011: Deadmau5 with the full live show (with LED Mau5 head and new production), designed by the people who brought the world Daft Punks' legendary live show!! Deadmau5 is one of the biggest acts in the world with countless productions, and has been stunning audiences worldwide with this live show and production (he is bringing for the first time to Australia).

Another year and another smash hit for Frenchman Martin Solveig, all over the radio and TV with ‘Hello’ Martin will be shooting an exclusive video at Creamfields Australia. Skrillex is one of the hottest producers at the moment, owning 7 out of 10 spots on the Beatport chart in November 2010. Chuckie is one of the most in demand acts in the world with his Dutch House weapons. Simon Patterson one of the new school guys of trance has jumped up in the DJ Mag rankings and blown away crowds at major festivals including Trance Energy around the world. Gabriel and Dresden are one of the most revered acts in the Trance/Progressive world and haven't toured for many years. Wynter Gordon has had a massive few months, ‘Dirty Talk’ topping the Aria Charts and will be performing live at Creamfields. Hi Tek Soul is the new project for Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May, the original Detroit Legends together for 3 hours at each show. After sellout club shows across Australia, DJs, remixers and producers the Bingo Players return for Creamfields after a busy end to 2010 and start of 2011. Top 3 Psy Trance act Skazi return to Australia with a new album due in March: ‘Time to feed the animals.’ French Wunderkid Surkin is back in Australia with a new live show. Electronic Duo Dada Life are from Sweden. Check out their latest album ‘Do the Dada.’ Umek is one of the techno massives favourite acts, get set for Umek at all shows. Nadastrom The collective brainchild of Washington, D.C. natives Dave Nada and Matt Nordstrom. Emerging duo experiencing significant buzz. i.e. The debut release from Nadastrom sold out on vinyl and became a digital store annual bestseller. One of the buzz acts of 2010 was Round Table Knights, a huge year on dancefloors, charts and touring. At a time when techno is marketed in the same way as a sci-fi blockbuster, it’s possible for every aspiring DJ to have the same playlist as their idol with just a few mouse clicks, the mysterious Sandwell District label is pushing in the opposite direction, putting some distance between the artist and the audience. London based Tim Green is one of those producers who doesn't turn in a lot of filler tracks. His unique style and flair shine for all to see when the 25 year old puts his music out there. After a decade in the business Bart Claessen knows a thing or two about trance. Over the last eight years he’s been responsible for huge club hits, international chart smashes and sub-genre defining releases. If there is one thing you can’t blame Mumbai Science for it’s a lack of imagination. At only 24, the duo already have a decade worth of creative experimenting behind them.

The countdown is on Australia! Creamfields will return with larger stages and epic production, with the first Cream event stadium show, 'Planet Cream', in Adelaide. Brisbane will see a new venue this year, the RNA Showgrounds as we move to a larger capacity with a new site configuration for Melbourne.

Neon Hitch used Deadmau5 track without his permission in "I Can't Behave Myself" song

Neon Hitch released a song called "I Can't Behave Myself" that featured an instrumental track called "Seeya Next Tuesday" by a popular electronic artist Deadmau5. Deadmau5 has commented on Facebook that the track was never used with permission and was received by Neon Hitch through record labels, not with Deadmau5's consent.

Deadmau5 comments:

"and were back! and here i am... telling it how it is. ive been hearing alot about this Neon Hitch track... so i looked into it... holy shit. what do you know... its actually Seeya Next Tuesday. now ask me if i ever asked them to write / "sing" on it.... yeah... no. i didnt.

in fact, ill do you one better... a few months back we had this guy working with my management company... and i gave him a shitload of old tracks just to send out to writers and whatnot... and seek out possible collabs with other artists.. you know... basically keeping it internal... and just putting feelers out to see if i could vibe off anything.. and part of those MP3s i sent out, was my old (vocal-less) Seeya Next Tuesday.... so, someone obviously over at their camp, or EMI's camp obviously felt liberal enough to say to Neon Hitch "HELL FUCK YEAH, WRITE A FUCKING WICKED CHEESY POPPY VOCAL TRACK OVER THIS.. WHO GIVES A FUCK WHAT THAT DEADMAU5 GUY SAYS."

coz this is certainly the first time im hearing it... meanwhile its already on the radio now? how the fuck does that happen? i guess i missed that fucking memo... because im sure its great for the poppy mega radio piece of shit it is... but, it's defineatley not the direction i wanted to go with it.

so on behalf of every fucking idiot who thinks my internal demos are automatically public domain, ... i apologize. just listened to the track again... and yeah, i apologize again. * TRIPLE FACEPALM* gotta love how fitting the title is huh?

its not about "the stealing" coz im sure there wasnt any in the first place. our (now ex employee) gave that shit to them... as a demo... etc, whatever... and im pretty sure they havent officially released this (or ever will), so its not really a moan about "neon hitch theving my shit" ... because hey, shit leaks. thats just what happens...

and hell, for all i know they leaked with my name stamped all over it knowing it would get a ton of attention... *shrug* right? i mean... that's pretty .. well dodgy, but it works. Truth of the matter is ... even bad publicity is good publicity. hell... remeber that "dj are cunts" rant i had way back when?? yes. people STILL talk about that shit... and as stupid as the whole argument was in the first place.. it's still done me more good than harm.

but i think im just pissed off because, look at all this shit really... hitch just got probably 25,000 new views (to be super conservative) ... rusko got what? 10,000+ twitter followers the following week of that epic cry fest.... shit.

sucks that im now in this kinda almost-mainstream level marketplace where bitchathons like this actually counted for publicity, whereas the actualy music in question is almost completely thrown out of the equation.

take me back to the faxing berlin-ish days, where i was sitting in a basement apartment writing tracks and the most drama i would usually encounter was about some local DJ who talked copious amount of shit which may have reached a grand total of 4 people, and then that was the end of that.

now it seems we have this crazy multimillion audience who propel this shit around the universe and back again for years...

excuse me for speaking up about it and all that... but really? fuck... is this what becoming jaded actually feels like? ... well as long as i can still sit here and be open about it... i'm perfectly fine... because i know meowingtons doesnt give a fuck about ANY of it.... just as long as something bumping out of the speakers and he's got food in his dish.

probably doesnt help that im bitching about it either... but if it gives neon hitch another 30,000 profile views... then i guess i contributed to the music industry after all.

then... at least im contributing to something... right?"
